Why Kawst exists

India's commercial vehicles are run by millions of salaried drivers, owners who drive their own car, and fleet owners with anything from two vehicles to hundreds. Much of that business still runs on trust, phone calls and paper: fuel bills nobody can check, trip logs nobody can verify, and a driver's good record that disappears every time they change jobs.

Kawst puts that work on one platform. Every feature exists for one reason: to make sure the people who drive better, maintain better and serve better earn better, with fewer middlemen eating margins, fuel bills that can be checked, and a good driving record the driver can choose to keep between jobs.

Who it is for

• Drivers have their driving licence and ID verified by Kawst and can choose to make a job-seeker profile (experience, licence class, expected salary and rating) visible to fleet owners who are hiring. Ratings and experience from past owners stay on the driver's own profile and are shown to a hiring owner when the driver applies for their job.
• Owner-cum-drivers who own and drive their vehicle track fuel, EMI, insurance, service, tyres and tolls, see their real monthly profit, and take the trips that suit their route and earnings target as they grow from one car to a fleet.
• Fleet owners find document-verified drivers who have chosen to be listed, follow trips during duty, get fuel entries checked by AI with mismatches surfaced for their review, and see which vehicle is making money.
• Vendors and travel companies: fleets keep a record of the trips and bills of the partner companies they take trips from, and the travel companies and business clients who book with a fleet receive its quotations, trip-share links, invoices and payment links on kawst.in. Payment links point the customer to pay the fleet directly, for example to the fleet's own UPI ID.
• Riders are next: hiring rated drivers and booking trusted fleets directly is planned for a later phase.

What Kawst does

• Vehicle fleet management: every vehicle, its registration, insurance and service history in one place.
• Trip tracking: monitor trips from dispatch to completion and keep clients updated, using the driver's phone GPS during duty (the driver is told, and a notification shows while tracking is on) or a hardware tracker if one is fitted.
• Driver hiring and management: onboard drivers, assign vehicles, keep their documents and record the advances you give them.
• Expense and advance tracking: record fuel, tolls, driver advances and maintenance, so you know where every rupee goes. Kawst is your record book: it never holds, pays or moves anyone's money.
• Checks: AI reads fuel photos and checks entries against tank capacity and mileage, surfacing mismatches for the owner to review; trip records and vehicle health sit on a single timeline.
• Compliance alerts: reminders before vehicle tax, insurance, fitness certificates, PUC and servicing fall due.
• Reports: utilisation, driver performance and profitability per vehicle.
